A Celebration of Life is a warm and personal way to say goodbye, with the freedom to create a service that truly reflects the person you have lost. Rather than feeling that you have to follow a particular format or tradition, you can choose the music, words, memories and little touches that feel most meaningful to you and your family.

For some families, this might mean favourite songs, photographs and stories that bring back happy memories. For others, it may still include hymns, prayers or more traditional elements, but in a way that feels personal and familiar. There is no right or wrong way to arrange a Celebration of Life.

The main difference from a traditional funeral is simply the freedom it gives you. Traditional funerals often follow a more familiar or formal structure, whereas a Celebration of Life can be more relaxed and centred around the personality and life of the person being remembered.

It can still take place at a crematorium, cemetery, church or another suitable venue, and you can include as much or as little tradition as you feel comfortable with.
